About me

I'm Alec, a graphic and web designer who sees design as one of the biggest drivers behind a brand that converts.

Everything I make is built to be captivating, clean and aimed squarely at the right audience. And I don't stop at the design. I build and look after websites end to end, from SEO and GEO to performance, security and responsiveness.

I also stay close to what's happening in AI, testing new tools, prompt techniques and best practice so my clients get the benefit early.

How I build
websites

Four steps from your first message to a live website.

Brief

Every project starts with a conversation. I learn about your business, who you want to reach and what the site needs to do, then I put it all in writing.

  • Clear scope
  • Timeline
  • Quote

Concept

I research your industry and competitors, then pull together a direction for colour, type and layout. You see where it's heading before I design anything in full.

  • Moodboard
  • Style direction
  • Your sign-off

Design and build

I design every page in full, then build it. You review it and I refine it until it's right.

  • Full page designs
  • Revision rounds
  • Working build

Launch

I take your site live with the SEO basics set up and every screen size tested. I'm still around afterwards when you need changes.

  • Live site

  • Ongoing support

  • Most websites fall between R5,000 and R15,000, depending on the size of the site and what it needs to do. Send me your scope and I'll put together a quote based on the work involved.

  • It depends on the size of the site. A standard 3 to 4 page website usually takes about a week, and larger or more complex builds generally take no longer than a month. I'll give you a clear timeline once I've seen your scope.

  • First, a quick introductory call or meeting so I can understand your goals and what you need. After that, I'll need your logo, high resolution images and brand guidelines such as fonts and colours, if you have them.

  • No deposit is needed. You only pay once the project is complete. Until then, any designs I share will carry a watermark, and the final files are sent to you as soon as payment comes through.

  • That's your call. My preference is Duda, as it offers stronger security, faster load times and more freedom to design something unique, but I'm happy to build on the platform that suits you best.

  • Yes. Most people will visit your site on their phone, so responsive design is a big focus for me. It's included in every website package.

  • Ideally you supply the content, since you know your business and industry best. If you'd rather not, I can write the copy for you and send it for approval before I build. This is charged as an additional fee.

  • Every site I build follows SEO best practice from the start, including page titles, meta descriptions, FAQs, reviews and backlinks. Ongoing SEO work, such as blog posts and content updates, is available on a monthly retainer.

  • Yes. After launch I check in regularly and keep your website updated, so it stays secure and running smoothly.

  • I can do either. A full brand identity includes your logo, a brand kit, email signatures, letterheads and business cards.

  • You'll receive a set of logo variations for both light and dark backgrounds, plus single colour versions. You'll also get the original Illustrator files, so you have everything you need.

  • Yes. On a monthly retainer I design an agreed number of posts each month, tailored to what your brand needs.

  • Printing is arranged by you. I focus on the design and supply print-ready files, so you can take them to the printer of your choice.
